Bartenders are proudly rolling out their latest creation for the summer: booze on a stick. But the world of the liquor popsicle, or liquorcicle, is full of mystery -- starting with the recipes. "I will not tell you the whole truth about this because it took us three months to figure out," says Andre Priemer, food and beverage director of the Washington Plaza hotel. The challenge, of course, is finding a way to solidify alcohol, which has a low freezing point. Representatives for Freaky Ice, a packaged liquorcicle marketed primarily in nightclubs, won't say a single word about the product. The spiked treats were banned in Sweden last year out of fears that they would attract an underage audience.
